East Harlem

Established in 1975 in a convent that was transformed into a comprehensive residential treatment program for the formerly incarcerated, Greenhope Services for Women is one of the few woman-centered facilities in New York State that provides services and programs for women affected by substance abuse and the criminal justice system. In 2011, Greenhope opened Kandake House in East Harlem, a 43,000-square-foot facility designed by UAI that provides an array of treatment, counseling, educational and vocational programs, in addition to housing for 72 residents, 28 of whom are housed with their child.

Join Open House New York for a tour of Kandake House to hear more about the design of this project and how it helps Greenhope realizeĀ its mission to help women reclaim their lives, reunite with their families, and rebuild their communities.

Admission is free but advance reservations are required. Registration begins July 3 at 8 am.
